most beautiful?

Monday, November 14th, 2005

I watched the premiere of “Malaysia’s Most Beautiful” the other Thursday. And I feel the show is fake. Actually, I made the conclusion only after the show ends. Watching the persons who get booted-out that day really makes me think, what actually are the definitions of beauty in the head of the three judges (Yasmin, Sheila and Sean)? The three people who leave the first episode of the show are not fairly judged.

Reason 1: The first week is merely an ice breaker week and the participants barely do anything except a photo-shoot session with an annoying photographer who thinks every one doesn’t know how to “relax” and how to pose. I seriously think he is a GAY. He hates every girl at the photo-shoot! How does the judge find any flaw on the 3 girls within that week? The girls don’t even have enough time to show their true colors. Trust me, give them 2 more weeks and you can see who’s fake and who’s not. On what base they kick out those girls? The fact that they don’t know how to pose or how they cope with the GAY photographer? The reasons why they’re kicked out are not clearly stated.

For instance, the girl who dons the headscarf, Azyan, the first one to get kicked is given the reason by the judges she is kicked out because she once says she has a wild side and she’s kicked out because she is not showing who she really is. FOR GOD SAKES!! Are you people are plain idiot or just acting to be such a pea-brain! The girl has just entered the show and in a short period how does she suppose to show every side of her personality? Talking about fairness…

And even if she had her wild side, should she show it? What if her wild side is just fantasizing about running half-naked around KL while screaming like a half-brain retard? Should she show it? Everybody has their own wild side and it does not have to be “realize” in our already crazy life. I think it’s only an excuse to get rid of the girl who looks like she’s not fit with the glamorous-looks in the show.

Reason 2: What is up with the judges? How come they let a girl who looks like a whore more than a whore itself get into the show? Seriously, I really think the participant named JU is a slut. Guess what is her hidden talent? Cheeky dancing. I’m embarrassed as a Muslim women living in a so-called Muslim country. She’s a Muslim and is not guilty of referring her 42G boobs and her larger-than-life ass, when asked by the judge what is special about her. Even the GAY photographer thinks she only suits for Victoria’s Secret catalogue and mind you, it’s NOT a compliment. I can see it through the expressions by the photographer when he said so. For your information JU, your boobs look fake and your ass is bigger than your brain. And that’s what the judge means by “beautiful”? A girl who acts like sex maniac and thinks she is sexier than anybody else in this whole wide world? THAT is beauty? Well, you can say I m conservative but I’ll never in my whole life consider a slut like that as beautiful. And if she wins, I’ll cut my throat and dump my dead body in the sewage. Trust me, I will.

Well, I will keep on watching this show. Just to keep my blog busy and to keep on bitching about it. I like bitching about sluts. May the Beautiful One wins.

stringless violin

Raya day was so much fun. The best part is the TV programs are so great. The line up of the movies and telemovies are great for people like me who doesn’t like to go out of my house on raya day. I love Indonesian movies and thanks to Astro Prima, I get to see my sayang, Nicholas Saputra acts in “Biola Tak Berdawai”. I only chanced upon the movie the other day because I cannot sleep. I only get to rest my eyes when it is 4 am. Lucky me, I get to see the movie and I find the movie is average. The only thing that makes me goes through the movie even if its boring as hell is my sayang, Nico.

The story is about Ria Irawan who character’s name I forgot and Dewa, a mentally disabled child which Ria treats like her own unborn child. Ria was a ballet dancer but gives it up after she had been raped by her own ballet instructor. The way the director capture the flashback of Ria’s dancing days are good and captivating. In order to wash her sin of doing abortion, she opens up a house for disabled child whose family abandons them, like she did to her baby. Dewa is lived more than other kid by Ria and there’s Mbak Wid, a pshyco-weird-looking-doctor-cum-bomoh who helps Ria at the house and believes that every single thing in life is a puzzle. Screw you. Dewa never lifts his head up nor does him talks. But, magically, he lifts up his head when Ria danced in her room with classic song and this made Ria believes that music therapy will help Dewa to cure his disease.

She then took Dewa to a session by Nico and his mates. A violin session. Nico found Dewa interesting as a child but never look at him or treat him like a disabled child. He treats them like any other child and this made Ria attracted to him but the age factor becomes barrier between them. Ria feels that she’s too old for Nico although its only her excuse for keeping men away from her because she’s afraid of being tricked and cheated like what her very trusted ballet instructor has done to her. She is haunted by her past and every time she sleeps, she gets the same dream where she is raped by the man and every time she wakes up, she will feel an excruiciating pain in her stomach. Seriously, I thought it’s only a metaphor for her sin for aborting her baby. But actually, she gets a servic cancer due to the not very good abortion that she gets.

So she died. Leaving Nico or Bhisma, in this story with Dewa. And what’s with the title? String-less Violin means or indicates Dewa, he lived but he is helpless at anything. He can’t do anything. Only waits for his day to come. Like what Bhisma said,”Tidak boleh dimainkan dan tidak boleh memainkan.” Means (violin) cannot be played and cannot play a melody.
